The European Business Angels Network (EBAN) and BGTA Accelerator today announced that they have joined forces to build a bilateral collaboration between the technology and investment sectors in Europe and China.
At the 2018 EBAN Winter Summit in Luxembourg, EBAN President Peter Cowley and BGTA CEO Helen Wang signed a Memorandum of Understanding detailing how the two organisations will work together. Within the scope of the MoU, EBAN and BGTA will undertake joint activities to further innovation, investment and knowledge sharing across the two regions.
Peter Cowley, President of EBAN commented: “EBAN is delighted to be working with BGTA to build bridges between Europe and China. We believe that the collaboration will create exciting opportunities for startups and investors from both regions and will contribute to a more globalised early stage ecosystem.”
Helen Wang, CEO of BGTA added:
“We are very pleased to sign this MoU with EBAN, formalising the collaboration that focuses on EU and China technology exchanges and investment activities as Europe accounts for 20% of global R&D investment, it plays a key role in the global tech ecosystem. We believe that the joint resources and expertise between the two most competitive markets in the tech world will mutually benefit the tech industry and drive economic growth both in the EU and China.”
The collaboration between EBAN and BGTA will include organising joint events, connecting European startups with Chinese investors and vice versa, as well as designing educational programs for investors and entrepreneurs in China.
